A Culture Of Fear IV - Evelyn Fox Keller says of Nobel Prize—winner Barbara McClintock that her knowing came from “the highest form of love, love that allows for intimacy without the annihilation of difference” (pp. 55). Does this kind of love have a place in education? If not, why not? If so, how might it be taught? How might it make a difference if we could teach students to love the world in this way?

According to my opinion this kind of love if it takes place in education, the first point could  be that the teacher must love his/her work something that is not always true because if teachers have no real commitment and love for his/her work, they hardly could be  willing to make even sacrifices for the benefit of student learning. Secondly, the teacher is the person  responsible for establishing close relationships with his students so a good teacher must  teach their students to respect each other, to love each other despite differences because every human being has own personality that differentiate one another, but that situation must  not be a barrier  to not accept each other.

A teacher who loves his job must  work not only to inculcate students’ knowledge but also values and positive attitudes to help students to become useful persons, people with a healthy spirit, always ready to overcome all difficulties and go beyond fear.

If we can teach students to love the world in this way we would be taught to love themselves as much as to others, thus allowed to be intimate with others while respecting differences.

If a teacher is able to influence students both positively and negatively, require much more commitment and a strong love of teaching to do the best job. Every student has especial skills and differences we must work to transform a empty classroom space into a warm, comfortable environment where students as I said before not only acquire knowledge, but also self-respect and a measure of dignity and love no matter the edge, races and backgrounds. Finally, we must show students that the classroom could  only be a warm place and safe place to learn if everybody respects each other.

In order to help students by giving greatest love implies give our time, energy and a real commitment to help students see the world  in different manner not for any type of personal gain.
