1. Write about an experience of community, of any duration, that has been meaningful to you (letting community mean whatever it may mean to you). What went on in that situation that made it “community” for you? What was going on in you at that time that made you available to this community?

I am going to write about an experience that took place in a classroom.

When I was primary school a group of teachers gave us an important lesson because we learned to work together as a community.

Most of the time there was not harmony in our relationships and every student just was concentrated in himself/herself without regard to others. Most students just looked for their own benefit and even though there were not serious problems the affective relationships were not positive.

Unfortunately, in one occasion a student was seriously sick. I remember that teachers encouraged us to work together to help our classmate not only financially but emotionally.

Our teachers conducted an original project and for me that situation meant work in community because we needed each other in order to achieve the goal. We worked forgetting our differences and being humble.  At the end, we felt satisfied to have helped our classmate and because we realized that working together for one goal and making an effort we managed better.

I personally felt satisfied to have helped others and was meaningful felt a sense of community. We had that opportunity and we learned to get along better.
